» PERSONALITY;
Roxxanna loves company as much as the next person. Really she does. A room full of people, and she's in her happy little element. But that's not to say she doesn't enjoy being on her own for a while just as equally. Sometimes, all Roxx will want to do is lounge in a space by herself, doing absolutely nothing. And she’s happy. She isn't needy or clingy in the slightest bit, and somehow, can always tell whether her company is wanted or not by the look in someones eye. She'll go away and do her own thing quite happily if you tell her to feck off. xD She doesn't need armfuls of people around her to feel safe, she doesn't need giggling females hanging on to her every word to feel cool and in with the crowd. That stuff doesn't faze Roxxy in the slightest bit. She enjoys being her own person, being independant, and thinks nothing of being by herself for any reason.
You could say it's pretty hard to find someone so laid back they're almost horizontal, these days. Really, if you think about it, people are always too full of worry, or too highly strung and on their feet. Yea, that's regular normal people. Not Roxxy here. She could not be more relaxed if she tried, some days. But really, that's just how she rolls as a person. ;] Nothing fazes her, at all. She finds it a total waste of energy even bothering to worry or stress. Or, put it this way. If she does ever need to worry or stress, extremely rare as it is, she makes sure she does it in her own time, and doesn't bother anyone else with her problems. Each to their own.
A hint for ya. Don't you dare underestimate Roxxyssmallnesspetiteness ;] It'd be fair to say she has the strength of many 89343242542 foot goddesses when the time is right. Packing more punch than any of them. You wouldn't think it, to see fun, happy-go-lucky Roxxy turn tough at the blink of an eye. Yea, so don't be fooled by her easygoing, friendly nature when it comes to dissing people close to her, or people that don't deserve that kinda treatment. When you rile those close to her, you really rile Roxxy. The only thing that ever gets her totally mad, is jerks who shit talk her homies. =O It's obvious that miss Radley is certainly no pushover. The girl is one tough cookie, and won't let anyone walk all over her, and even though she would always much rather have no confrontations with anyone, but sometimes people need to be told. But moving on from all things feisty. =] At the least little thing, Roxxy can be on the floor laughing her pink head off. She finds anything and everything, utterly hilarious. She's extremely easily pleased. She doesn't take a lot for granted, and tries to make the most of things regardless if they're good or bad. But i guess she's just different. Not to mention the fact that she likes to give people a laugh whenever she can, even if it means making a fool of herself at her expense. Laughter is totally the best medicine, as her studies have shown. =]
Okay, so she acts like one of lads all the time. BUT. It would be incorrect to describe Roxxy as a 'ladette'. On the outside, she is anything but. Glamourous, high-heeled .. the lot. She isn't the usual definition of female band-member. Sort of like a glitzy rockstar. She has a certain style and unique class about her, which no doubt gives people the totally wrong impression of her. ie, not realising that personality wise, she is a total dork and not interested in shallow things. It’s immediately evident however, when you get talking to her, and get to know her, that she's totally not superfficial like that. But inside .. by god, she's practically a dude! xD Maybe it's because she has lived with four men ever since she was born, including a supremely masculine father, suave stepdad, and her three bolshy brothers .. but whatever it is .. a lot of guys just seem to welcome her boyish friendship with open arms. It's quite hard to believe actually, as usually when you look at a girl like Roxxy, you'd never think she'd be into the rough and tumble, simplistic minded, brashness of boy-behaviour. xD Just goes to show how you should never judge a dirty book by it's pretty little cover. ;]
Roxxy has a don't-hold-back approach to life. This attitude includes the ability to do anything, and everything. Or so she thinks. In a way, Rox reckons she is invincible, and is one helluva daredevil. Seriously. Even though she doesn’t see it, it is infact a terribly dangerous way to be. She will do anything without a second thought. And in all honesty, she generally just does it to have fun and for the thrill. Nomatter how risky and damaging it is. Unless it involves another person, you will rarely see her back down from risk takes. She pretty much sees every day as an adventure, and sees it as totally worth all the daft stuff she gets up to. Called 'living a little and a lot' xD
Despite the bubbly, welcoming air about Roxxanna, there really are too many skeletons in her closest and demons lurking about her past for her to ever be more than suggestive about her early life. Roxxy won't open up to anyone, except from her older brother Zane, who also happens to be the closest brother to her, yet the boy with the most problems. So the more you push Roxxanna for answers about her past, the more she will push you away. So if she ever does get into a trusting and secure relationship with anybody, just give her time .. and she will open up eventually, whether it be a month, a year, 10 years. She just finds it very hard to thinkabout. This coincides with her inabillity to show intense emotion. Very rarely will she cry, or talk to people about how she is feeling. It all has to do with how she feels about her history, and doesn't want to project her downfallls onto anyone else.
Roxxannas head is firmly screwed on, you may be pleased to know. =] She's extremely grounded, and knows she's nothing special. If her musical career takes off, she has promised herself that she will not change her goofy ways just to please other people, and will remain thoughroughly normal as can be. Until that time, however, she has nothing to worry about, and is certain not 'fame-driven'. More often than not, Roxxy never thinks before she does anything. This is a major downfall. It usually lands her in some sort of trouble, but this doesn't bother her. Trouble should be her middle name or something. And usually, when asked to make a decision, she makes the wrong one. She is pretty useless that way, and can never make her mind up when it comes to something important. She often passes the responsibility onto another poor soul. xD
Roxxy has worked very hard to get where she is today. If it wasn't for her sheer detemination to get further in life, she would be lost. She has sheer drive and belief that anything is possible if you want it that much, and this is what makes her continue on in the quest for band-glory. =] It's a mean world, and if you're not fast, you're last. Roxxanna has came through tough times to realise that, but if it wasn't for those tough times, she'd not be in such a position. There's good in everything. ;]
Roxxy is one of those girls you could trust with your life. Totally. You just know that if you tell her something that you don’t exactly want the whole world to know about, it won’t go any further. Just you and Rox. You can always be reassured of that. Of course, when it comes to trusting another, that’s a very different story. Roxxanna has always had boundaries with trust. It's just the way you never know iif someone is genuine or not, and peoples true colours don't show until it's far too late to do anything about it. Hence, why she is sensible in that aspect. She never gets too close to people right away. Although with certain people, there is this instant spark, and once you are high in her views, then you got a friend for life in Roxxy. =] She is an intensely loyal girl, and will stick by you no matter what. Although she can admittantly read people like a book, but chooses not to judge people. What with all the fucking labels passed around so casually nowadays, she tends not to add to that && generally just keeps her opinions to herself that way. ;]

» PAST;
THE BEGINNING.
Valerie Nolan began as just a normal girl from a small, simple little town in France. Never to be classed as anything special in her young years, from anyone around there. She was an immensely quiet little girl, with nothing to say for herself, and seriously lacking in the friend department. Val often isolated herself from life in this part of town, preferring her own company on the lonely country roads, than with her poor family and the kids at school who teased her for the ridiculous hand-me-downs she wore each day. Even her own mother and father referred to her as 'the invisible kid'. However, this 'invisible kid' had an imagination like no other. Each day she dreamed of a future life to take her away from this, ideas swam round in her head like sharks basking, waiting and waiting for one of the ideas to surface into reality. But they never did. Not once. So she carried on as best she could, staying silent, customising her outfit with little tweaks here and there, her aspiration for fashion becoming clearer and clearer with each year that slipped by. She took an interest in staring in awe at the magnificent clothing she caught sight of in the fashion magazines of the local shop. She eventually spent most of her time there every day, just flicking through every page, taking in each and every custom design and unique detail. It was like a faitytale story of good and bad, but the only downside was, this was no fairytae, it was cold, harsh truth. This went on unnoticed for a little while, but it was only a matter of time before the crabby shop owner noticed the little girl leafing through magazine after magazine, but not paying up for her pleasure. So she was told to pay up or get out, eventually, and having no money of her own, she had no choice but to do the latter. Yet, her dream still remained a vivd, promising one for many months after that, a little girl with a huge flair for colour, style, and an unknown range of imagination, just waiting to be discovered. However, nothing became of it in the early years of Valerie's miserable life. Donovan Radleys life, however, could not have been any different. His family were a close unit, tightly knit, and bound with many bonds. His mother and father doted on their children with such tenderness and love, and every day spent was in honour of their precious son and daughters. The warmth of the Australian neighbourhood, a peaceful gathering, who looked out for one another. The Radleys were well known for being very wealthy, with villa's in Scotland, London, and California. Yet, they were charitable, gracious, and most certainly not ones to flash the cash. The children of these millionaires had knockout manners, and were simply charming in every way. They wanted for nothing, and were extremely popular with the children at the boarding school. Donovan, however, found the boarding school tough at times, hating the idea of strangers and being stripped of his home comforts, but he survived, and came out a much stronger, tougher adolescent.
TEENAGE KICKS.
The teenage years were the one's where both children changed the most, for better or worse. Valerie was growing up to morph into a beautiful young woman, with a mane of soft blonde hair to die for and a glorious smile that hid all the demons of her past so wonderfully. Don, was equally changing into something very handsome, and it was almost certain this could only get better during adulthood, which was still to come. Valerie, by this time, had grown in a determined and rebellious streak about her. As she began to flourish, many of the kids at school, mainly boys, noticed this, and interest for her grew immensely at the age of sixteen onwards. This made Val feel uneasy in the beginning, but soon, she became aquired with the attention she had craved since she was little from her family, and soon began to take advantage of the offers given to her. She whored herself around to a great degree, allowing others to pay for her amenities, pretty dresses, quality food, all that shebang. The shy, sensible little girl was greatly changing, and not for the better. Her flair for style was hanging in the balance, and so was her relationship with her parents, who threatened to disown her countless times. Until the time came for her to leave, in which she did so with relief, but also fear. The big wide world. Where would she go? What would she do? Who would she meet? Did she really give a fuck? Well, when she came to think of it, no. She was a big girl now. Her younger life had been isolated, lonely, needy. But not anymore. She had talent, and she knew it. It was time to find the bigwigs of style, time to get out there and show the world what she was made of, brassy blonde, lipstick, heeled and all .. and what better place to move to for university than Australia? It seemed so exotic and faraway to a villaging french rose, who desired nothing more than to get as distant as possible to her family. Hey, what did she have to lose? A lot? Well, yes .. but she was fed up of being so self contained, and if the 'posh' kids could do it, then hell, so could a small town lass from France. Don, meanwhile, was having similar ideas. He had perfect results for his uni degree. He could take his pick from all the top notch courses. He had soared through boarding school was flying colours .. and was assured from his eager parents that no matter where he went, he would excell. And pathwise .. Hmm .. most prestigious university in the country? Sure, why not. So that's where Dons journey began.
CHALK AND CHEESE.
It was like fate that Valerie and Donovan met. And also, for Valerie, frankly, a highly embarrasing way to meet your future true love and husband! Yea yea, they both got through. The panel who decided whether Valerie had what it took to do well were seriously doubtful of her at first, but the portfolio she showed of all the magazine cutouts, all the hand-me-downs turned fabulous, all the hours spent into each project she had .. did impress them highly. Plus, her english was fantastic, as it had always remained her favourite school subject, and she had spent many hours studying it in her own time, keen to learn this fantastic language. So in the end, they gave it a shot. Almost no thought went into deciding whether charming Donovan should get a place or not. It was a definite yes for him all round. The handsome Australian with bags of potential and personality was just waiting to be unwrapped. Many of the panel ladies looked like they'd want to do plenty of unwrapping where Don was concerned, but that's besides the point. ;] So on a hot summers day, Valerie was being harassed by a group of high flying young males. She found it hard even here to make friends with the girls, who constantly looked down at her, basically for being french, pretty, and basically everything they weren’t, so eventually, she went back to her 'guy' roots. However, she wasn't used to this sort of lifestyle, and didn't realise the guys here were the smarmy, wisecracking type who thought they knew everything. So naturally, she was made a fool of in front of everyone in the main hall this day. She gritted her teeth, and told them where to go, but this made them retort worse. 'Slut', 'Whore', 'Go back to your red light district darling', were slung right in her face. Many people joined in to laugh at this poor girls unfortunate run in with the Mister Big's of this university. So, close to tears, red as beetroot, she turned on her heel and flounced ahead, not looking where she was going. Inevitably, she was going to crash into someone. And that someone .. was Donovan. He had only just entered the hall, and looked shocked at this gorgeous girl looking seriously flushed and angry. He held her at arms length for a minute, half checking she was okay, half bemused at what the hell was going on. He only had to look over his shoulder, to realise instantly what was going on. The schools notorious devils. And this was the start of something wonderful for Valerie and Donovan, chalk and cheese, but instantly connected and understanding from the day they ran into each other. Teenage sweethearts until his sad death.
THE CHILDREN.
So the two of them were pretty much inseperable all through their university life. Becoming closer and closer, until they fell in love, helping each other through hard courses in fashion design and law. It continued for months. Until one night, they gave into the truth of their feelings, and ended up sleeping together for the first time. Only, they were terribly stupid. This night ended up with Valerie falling pregnant. The news devastated her. A child? At 20? She only had one more year of her university course left, and had a real passion and drive for fashion. This would ruin everything, or so she thought. But Don reassured her everything would be alright. He would support her. They would raise the baby right. It was then decided they would get their own place together near the university, not forgetting Cameron was seriously wealthy, and on the path to becoming a lawyer. And so they continued on as best they could, going through good and bad times which all in all made them stronger.
Baby Joseph came within the 9 months. A bouncing baby, the picture of his daddy at such a early stage in his life. The couple were thrilled, and all the ups and downs were worth it for this little bundle of joy. The future looked brighter than ever with the woman he loved, and now a baby boy, life felt so full of promise for him. Valerie and Don were coming up to the last few months before they had finished their uni careers for life, when they decided to marry. This settled the family unit, and the rest is, as they say, history as far as despair, loneliness, and general negativity is concerned. Or so it seemed.
By the time the second baby came, Valerie was well on her way to becoming a seriously well known stylist, and had even resorted to modelling once her good looks were offered for the job. Donovan was three years into his law career, and the family were fast becoming as quids in as Dons' parents. It seemed like a good time to add to the Radley baby's, and this one was planned, at least. Joey was two years old when Lucas was born. Another baby boy, bigger and stronger than Joey, but with the same amazing temperament. He looked more like his mother than his father, with his head blossoming into a mane of golden locks just like Valerie. Now that the Radleys' careers had taken of big time, they were more relaxed in their parenting. However, not for long. When baby number three came a year later, Valerie had adopted the same snooty, businesslike, 'i am better than you' attitude that was far from how she really was. It was all thanks to her promotion to editor of a stylist section in a top class magazine, earning her big bucks, and an armful of bad moods, hissy fits, and 'higher class than you' glances. Don couldn't believe what his power-hungry wife was turning into, and in a desperate attempt to salvage her old self, the made a second home back in France. By the time they had set up there, baby Zane was born. Yet another boy. This was perhaps why in the future, Zane was perhaps least favourite to Valerie, as she had been pining for a little girl to dress in pretty dresses, and flaunt to the fashion world. Shame it never happened until two years later.
By this time, Don was highly ranked as an amazing lawyer both sides of the pond. He had businesses set up in Britain, Australia, and was branching out to America also. Valerie had also grounded herself back to something quite like how she was before, maybe not so great, but still a vast improvement to how she was a couple of years ago. It was now, that FINALLY .. she fell pregnant with a little girl. She was ecstatic, as was Donovan. The chance they had been waiting for. Could life have gone any smoother? Well .. if the boys weren't turning into such little monsters, then no. It was all going peachy apart from that, but anyway. And then Roxxanna was born .. spitting image of Valerie, and always would be from that day on ..
ROXXANNA'S YOUNGER YEARS.
As teenagers, the Radley kids never saw much of their parents. They were always stuck with a nanny whom the boys never got on with much, and Roxxanna was the type of pretty sociable kid who got on with anyone without fail. Lucas and Zane were turning into teenage tearaways, refusing to stick in at school, and would rather go to parties, get wasted, do fuck all else not even worth imagining. Joey, however, was a stay at home boy. He never got on with his brothers. He'd rather study than watch TV, go out and have a coffee with his friends instead of drink alchohol. There were distinct differences between Joe and the rest of the train-wreck Radley children, which often made people wonder whether he really did belong to the family. Lucas was determined to become a DJ, which ended up happening, but much to the resentment of his mother and father. Zane, however, was always a very mysterious character, with many layers to him. He was immensely good looking. All of the children were. But Zane, more than any of them, used this to his advantage. He whored, he used, he dumped. You get the picture. As a little boy, Zane was almost totally ignored by his parents. At school, all he ever did was get into fights, and get kicked out of numerous establishments. This appauled Valerie, and to some extent, Donovan, who always tried his best to see where his son was coming from, but ended up nothing more than frustrated. In fact, the only person Zane got along with was his beloved sister, Roxxanna. He was fiercely protective of her, hated seeing guys swanning around her, and was quick on the mark to let any guy physically know what would happen to them if they did anything to her. Roxxanna couldn't stand this, but what could she do? Her and Zane had a relationship that was probably the most genuine of the whole household. Yes they argued, yes they disagreed .. but majority of the time, they generally got on well. Roxxanna always had an incling that Zane had some strange tendencies. How he would fly off the handle at the littlest thing. How he used people, how he was charming one minute, kicking someone down to the ground the next. He was almost phsychotic in his ways. And then one day .. one day, the Radleys heard the most terrible news.
DEATH OF A HERO.
The death of the Radley children's father has always been a sceptical one. People say he was murdered. People say it was suicide. People even say he's not really dead, it was a hoax. Only Roxxanne knew the truth. No one else. Zane had came home that day after being gone for hour, absolutely devastated. She had never seen him like this. Immediately, she was trying to get whatever was making him so uncontrollable like this, out into the open. Eventually he whispered .. "I killed him." into Roxxanne's ear. It was then that Roxxy seriously feared for his mental health. Of course, she didn't believe him. They were all messed up and uncontrollable after his death. She was oblivious to the fact that Zane was sent to be the bearer of this terribly bad news, and nothing sank in. She tried to calm her brother down, sitting next to him and talking through with him, feeling dizzy, faint and totally disbelieving. Apparently, Zane had a serious run in before his death, which ended in him lashing out at Cameron, a huge blow to the head in a sudden uncontrollable surge of anger and frustration. He then ran off, unable to face his father after the conflict. Then, the next morning, Cameron apparently fell unconscious atop a roof, [due to the stalled reaction to Zane's blow to the head the previous night] resulting on him falling off and dying straight away on impact. To this day, Roxxy still cannot believe her brother, yet he will always go on blaming himself for the death of a much loved family member. This tore the whole Radley clan apart. Roxxy went off the rails. As did Lucas. Joey left home. Zane, well, Zane slept rough a lot of the time, or at some random girls house trying to fuck away his devastation. And Valerie. Valerie gave up. She shut down in depression, unable to believe the loss of her husband, the love of her life, who always made everything okay again. Was this the end of the happy era?
NOWADAYS.
That was eight years ago. Nowadays, everyone has went off their seperate ways. It took Valerie a long time to get over the pain of losing Donovan, but she eventually remarried her toyboy lover, Alexander Nichols, and has another four year old daughter with him, Amber. The only member of the Radley children who can bear to get to know Amber is in fact Roxxanna, who has built up a great relationship with her half-sister, and tries her best whenever she sees her. She is fast becoming like a real sister to her. Roxxy herself, decided she had to get her life on track after the death of her father. She got herself into a casual band, as a hobby and distraction, dyed her hair pink for a huge change, and began to see life as worth living again. Since then, the band has rocketted, landing her and her bandmates a deal with 'Spellbound Records'. This could be her big break, and is only the beginning for Rox. She still has the best relationship, out of brothers, with Zane, who still remains guilty and the ultimate bad-boy to this day. One things for sure. With so many secrets bound to be uncover, and many still to be made .. Roxxy still has a long way to go before her life is squeaky-clean. It's a journey she's just gotta take one step at a time.
