She's a girl who loves the roots of rocks and embraces life for what it is. When you first meet her, she's quiet and unsuspecting but once you dig past her layers, she's just like any other normal girl. She loves helping and giving. She's not afraid of taking risks and she definitely has a knack for being a self-admitted hopeless romantic. Zeppelin lives with her heart on her sleeve.
first person.
"My name has rubbed off on me somehow. I blame my parents. I adore rock music and mostly the life style minus all of the drugs and stuff. That's just not my scene. I'm all about non-conformity though. I believe everyone should stand out in some way or another and plus, the music is a lot more real than a lot of bands.
I practically live at the beach and I've always had that laid back appeal that a lot of surfers have. Yay me! I do surf but I'm not that great. Not enough to ever go pro. It's fun as all get out though. Something you should know about me is that I despise drama and I just tend to go with the flow. I hate confrontation and tend to run in the other direction. Call me sensitive I guess, I don't care.
When people first meet me, they don't really know what to think of me. I'm quiet and polite. That about sums up who I am on first impressions. Once I get to know you better, that all goes out the window. I can be as loud and spontaneous as the next person.
I am a self-professed hopeless romantic. I have dreams of getting engaged on the beach just as the sun goes down with just me and him and some surf boards. Haha, that sounds like my perfect idea of being proposed too. I tend to be a little too romantic sometimes and get blinded by my feelings for a guy when I really shouldn't. I don't get clingy or anything but I just tend to become blind to their flaws...mostly of the cheating and backstabbing variety. "

» FAMILY ; • sutan henderson - father - professional photographer "He's a total hippie-rocker but I love him. He's way to old to be talking to me about the birds and bees but he had that talk with me last year. He seemed to think eighteen was a good time to talk about it. Yeah, he's loony." • sasha henderson (formerly dashwood) - mother - psychologist "She's not your ordinary shrink. She's the kind that sprinkles flowers every where she walks and spits out 'long live rock and roll'. She was a total Led Zeppelin groupie. I think she even slept with one. Not to clear on the details because I kind of tuned her out when she started telling me about it."
» PAST; first person "I was born to the craziest people that you'll probably ever meet. Before I was thought of Sutan Henderson and Sasha Dashwood were just two hippie-rockers obsessing over the latest Zeppelin album release. In fact, that's how they met. Led Zeppelin was hosting this mega-huge concert in London, England and my parents just had to go. My mother's parents pretty much denied the request the first time that she asked because they're that annoying old fashioned kind of parents. So, she used the old 'I'm staying the night over at a friend's house' excuse. My father's mother was all for it. She embraced the hippie ways of the sixties and was all gung-ho for 'choice' or something like that. That's also the main reason why my father's name is Sutan, he's half-Indian. My grandmother (father side) had slept with an east-Indian man when she was seventeen as a sign of rebellion to her parents. Why? I have no idea. All I know is that both sides of my family are crazy and that includes my parents and grandparents.
Anyways, back to how they met and how I came to be. So, they both go to the concert. My mother was sixteen at the time and my father was seventeen. Well, they somehow ended up getting locked in the loo--that's bathroom in the British English language--together. They never explained that bit to me well and I much don't care to elaborate what they did tell me. Trust me, it'll scar me all over again and merely cause your ears to bleed if I repeated half the stuff they told me. The moment I turned thirteen and was declared a teen, it was like giving them the okay to be extremely liberal with their words. Right well, I'm getting off track. So, they got locked in the bathroom while the concert of their life was going on. This bathroom was all the way in the parking lot so that's why no one got them out until after their concert. They were crushed that they missed the concert but totally stoked to meet each other. Not my words, theirs. I would never use stoked unless I was drunk and had lost all sense in my equilibrium.
Two years later, they were married. Fast foward to four more years and I the amazing Zeppelin Lennon Henderson was born. They decided that the stuffy air of London wasn't for me and they moved to sunny California while my mother was pregnant. So, I'm a legal U.S. citizen because I was born on U.S. soil. My parents are simply naturalized citizens. Fascinating stuff, I know.
I won't lie. Growing up, I use to hate my name. Seriously, when was the last time you ever heard of a kid being named Zeppelin? Or a girl with the middle name of Lennon? I used to be teased. Ugh, the tortures of elementary. Nothing overtly interesting happened to me when I was a kid. Well, except for the fact that I found the camera and fell in mad love with it. Oh, that and I realized I totally love rock music. I'd shake my hump (Black Eyed Peas reference right there and it's definitely not rock) for that stuff any day. The first time, I ever held a camera, I was five. My father was a photographer for weddings, senior portraits, and stuff (you can make killer money off of that by the way) and he took me to a wedding one day. He had his back turned and I grabbed his four hundred dollar camera and begin snapping pictures of anything I found interesting.
At first, he was a little irritated but after he got the pictures developed...the couple liked my pictures and actually bought some. So, yeah, I've been a paid photographer since I was five. Oh yeaaah, baby, I was pretty much a professional right then. Just kidding. But no, on a serious side, I'm good. I've never been to school for any kind of training in photography. All I've got are the skills my father taught me and what I taught myself. Honestly, taking pictures is all about experimenting. Don't be afraid to try new things. That's why I'm photographing for Envy's Intent right now. I'm trying my hand at concert photography and so far I think I'm pretty damn good. Wouldn't you think so?" see ambrosia parks.
